Zenoite News - whats new and what is great on this high gloss panel system

In nearly every installation it will be necessary to cut or drill Zenolite.
In terms of hardness, Zenolite is similar to aluminium. So it can be cut, milled, or drilled using typical tools used for either wood or metal.

Best results will be achieved by using very sharp cutting tools, ensuring the removal of swarf and not overheating the material. Circular saws with 2 to 5 teeth per cm are best used for straight cutting, with bandsaws and router cutters used for curved cuts. Jig-saws can be used for short cuts only so the blade does not overheat and melt the material.

REMEMBER - It's vital to ensure the panel is firmly clamped during cutting or drilling to achieve optimum results.

Clean away the swarf from the work bench frequently. Drilling can be carried out with fixed or portable drilling machines that are fitted with high speed or carbide tipped steel drills designed for light metal. A moderately blunt drill will deliver better results than a sharp drill - step drills are ideal for Zenolite.

Zenolite is continuing to expand in key markets around the world. Hot Installation Tips

To achieve high performance bonding of Zenolite in all situations simply follow these three simple steps:

1)   Remove the protective film from the inside surface and scuff the rear surface of Zenolite with 240 grit sandpaper. Ensure that the rear surface is free of dust.
2)   Use a good quality neutral cure silicone.
3)   Always use double-sided tape combined with the silicone. This should always be applied parallel to the longest direction of the panel.

ZENOLITE Launches 4 new colors

With Zenolite becoming the material of choice among many designers and architects worldwide keeping up with the current market trends and listening to our client base is vital.

After extensive market research and feedback from customers, distributors and designers, 4 new colors have been added to the Zenolite pallet.

The four new colors are: Metallic Black, Rouge, Glacier and Blue Atoll. The new colors have a bolder look and would be ideal for creating feature walls in any commercial application, home or office.

The new Glacier color imitates the green edge and hue of traditional glass panels, whilst Rouge has a deeper vibrancy than our current Red. Blue Atoll takes advantage of design requests from our market and brings a touch of the Pacific to your next project and Metallic Black can be used where the metallic flecks add extra depth and light refraction to the surface.

High Gloss Novotel Lobby - Brisbane Airport

International hotel chain Novotel, has recently opened their 23rd hotel in Australia, located at the Brisbane Airports "Airport Village".

The hotel is the first in the village area, and with such proximity to both Domestic and International terminals, large shopping complexes, and restaurants the Novotel is attracting both corporate and family guests.

When the 4.5star hotel opened its doors in December 2009 they displayed a great use of Zenolite. The hotel which has been designed by Brisbane based firm Noel Robinson Architects, has used approximately 75m2 of Carbon Zenolite as a backdrop to the front desk and again on the outside of the elevator lobby.

Noel Robinson Architects had the task of designing the hotel to conform to their international values of modernity, good design, simplicity and efficiency.

Noel Robinson has said, "Zenolite was chosen for its aesthetic, reflective and lightweight qualities. In this space we wanted a dramatic modern look without compromising the light within the space. Using Carbon Zenolite we were able to achieve a strong entry and backdrop to the reception whilst at the same time increasing the light within the space due to its reflective surface. As a wall panel it is relatively lightweight compared to similar products, yet achieves a strong and solid look. The low-key maintenance and cost of this product were also contributors to our decision to specify Zenolite. Our first experience with the product has been very positive".

Our UK distributor Cloutings recently was at the London design show and reported great feedback on the Zenolite and StyleLite product ranges.

HABITARE EXPO - Helsinki

Our European distributor Eura Production was in Helsinki to show the Zenolite product and produced a fantastic stand. There was a great level of positive feedback on the Zenolite range with the wearability and easy clean features being the stand out points of interest and differentiation with this high gloss acrylic panel system.

DESIGN EX 2009- Melbourne

This years DesignEx in Melbourne was a great success for Zenolite - and its new sister product the acrylic lamination foil StyleLite.

With the many thousands of visitors, DesignEx is always a haven for the architect and designer industries to get a feel for the new and innovate - and we had an incredible response again on the Zenolite range and also with new StyleLite products.
